Documents
A Document is a full rich text document you create in MotherFluxer — generate one from a chat prompt or upload a file you already have, then write, format, proof, and export it. Documents live under the Productivity filter group in Artifacts.
Create a Document
You have two ways to start a Document:
- Generate from chat. Describe what you want in the chat — a report, a letter, an outline, a study guide — and MotherFluxer writes a complete Document you can keep editing.
- Upload a file. Bring in a document you already have. Supported uploads include PDF, DOCX, PPTX, TXT, and similar text formats. MotherFluxer imports the content into an editable Document.
Either way, the result lands in your Artifacts under the Productivity filter so you can find it again, reopen it, and keep working.
Open the document editor
Open any Document to launch the document editor. Across the top you'll find three mode tabs:
- Smart Edit — describe a change in plain language and let MotherFluxer rewrite the whole Document for you.
- Direct Edit — take the controls yourself to format, write, annotate, and proof by hand.
- Snapshot — view the current saved state and export it.
Switch tabs freely as you work — write a draft by hand, hand it to Smart Edit for a pass, then fine-tune in Direct Edit.
Smart Edit a Document
On a Document, Smart Edit is more than one tool — it's the Document's full set of AI tools, from a whole-Document rewrite to one-tap edits on a single element, AI reviews that leave your text untouched, web research that writes a cited Document, and layout cleanup. The major ones are covered in the sections below.
The simplest is a whole-Document rewrite: describe what you want — "make this more formal," "tighten it to one page," "rewrite for a younger audience" — and MotherFluxer regenerates the entire Document and saves it as a new Snapshot. It takes the full Document as input and produces a fresh version, so it's the fastest way to reshape tone, structure, or length all at once. Because each Smart Edit creates a new Snapshot, your previous version isn't lost.
Quick edits on a selected element
You don't have to rewrite the whole Document to change one part. Select an element — a heading, a paragraph, a text box — and a small lightbulb button appears beside it. Choose it for a short menu of one-tap edits:
- Improve — rewrite the text to be clearer and stronger.
- Shorten — make it more concise.
- Elaborate — expand it with more detail.
- Fix grammar — correct spelling and grammar.
- Change tone — rewrite it in a tone you describe, like formal, friendly, or persuasive.
Each one edits only the element you selected and saves the result as a new Snapshot. A Context option controls how much the AI looks at: Just this element is the most focused and cheapest; With surrounding also shows the AI the rest of the page as read-only reference, so the edit stays consistent with the text around it.
Review a Document with AI
Documents have AI reviews that give you feedback without changing your text — they never alter the Document or create a Snapshot. AI critique adds inline comments to the spots that could be improved, which you can acknowledge or apply one by one. Assess gives an overall review in a side panel: a short summary, scores for things like clarity and structure, and lists of strengths, weaknesses, and the most useful improvements. Multi-model review runs several AI models at once and lays their feedback out side by side so you can compare perspectives instead of relying on one opinion.
Research and write a Document
Research & write turns a topic into a finished, cited Document. Instead of starting from a blank page, you give the AI a subject — for example, "the economic impact of remote work since 2020" — and it researches the web, then writes a structured Document with numbered citation markers that point to the real sources behind each claim. Because it researches the web and writes a full Document, it's the most involved Smart Edit and uses more credits than a typical edit; you'll see the cost before you run, and the result is saved as a new Snapshot.
Direct Edit a Document
Direct Edit gives you hands-on control through four sub-tabs:
- Format — set page and layout: margins, page size, spacing, and overall structure.
- Write — the core rich text editor for typing, styling, headings, lists, and inline formatting.
- Doodle — add annotations and inserts on top of your text, like marks, highlights, and added elements.
- Review — proof your work with spellcheck, find & replace, and other proofing tools.
Move between these tabs as needed — draft in Write, set the page up in Format, mark it up in Doodle, and clean it up in Review.
Export a Document
Export from the Snapshot menu. A Document can be saved out in several formats:
- DOCX
- PPTX
- PNG
- HTML
- Markdown
- Text
Pick the format you need and MotherFluxer prepares the file for download.
Your file is built right on your device and downloads immediately — there's no server wait and no link that expires.
Undo and Redo
While editing, use Undo to step back through your recent changes and Redo to step forward again. This lets you experiment freely — try a formatting change or rewrite, and roll it back instantly if you don't like it.
